I am a final year International Business Management student at Leeds University Business School and I am currently conducting research for my dissertation project. My project is about gender and leadership and I am conducting
My project is about gender and leadership and I am conducting 30 minute interviews (over the phone or in person) with women who have been in senior management/leadership positions. I am looking to hear about their experiences in their career and what it is like to be a woman in a senior management position - a role which used to be dominated by male and to some extent still is. This includes any positive or negative experiences, challenges, any prejudice and exploring how they view leadership.
This is an exciting project which has already uncovered some interesting results and trends, and my professors are talking about possible publication when it is completed.
Previous participants have noted that the interviews have been enjoyable and somewhat therapeutic for them to have a chance to reflect on their own career and see the challenges they have overcome as well as realising the role gender has played in many cases.
If you have anyone who is part of your organisation who would like to be a part of this study and would be interested in speaking to me I would be incredibly grateful. Anyone who takes part is more than welcome to request a final copy of my project to see the important role they have played as well as comparing their experience to other women.
My email is bn13mhm@leeds.ac.uk and if anyone is interested they can send me and email and I will tell them more about the project and send them some more detailed information. Anyone is free to drop out at any point.
Thank you for your time,
Mairi McLaren.
