Horizon Coordinator Team

The Horizon Mentoring Scheme has been researched and developed  by a team of WiMUK Volunteers, who make up the Horizon Coordinators Team.

Laura Edwards, Project Lead

"My Name is Laura Edwards and I am a Marketing Executive for an organisation called AAT, an accountancy qualification and membership body. I first saw the benefits of mentoring when studying at Lancaster University in 2009. The Careers Centre there piloted a new Mentoring Scheme to help its students connect with professionals in preparation for their gradate careers. I applied for a place on the pilot and was one of the lucky few to be selected. The scheme ran officially for nine months but the connections I made during the programme still influence my personal development now.  My job as a Marketing Executive at AAT is directly linked to WIMUK member, Pam Dyson, who I had networked with on the scheme. My own successes through mentoring inspired me to help other women with the same ambitions."

Sandra Pollock, former National Chair

It has been my desire to have a Women In Management UK national mentoring scheme for several years.  It is wonderful that we have finally been able to complete our work on this project.  There have been many attempts over the years and I would like to thank the many WIMUK volunteers who have come to work together, over its many stages, to make it happen.

We hope that our members, initially, and our many friends and supporters will benefit from the programme and find it valuable.
