Our latest updates
If you haven't yet noticed, there has been a slight change to the Awards. We say slight because the East Midlands Women's Awards (EMWA) has not changed, but we're branching out to the West Midlands from 1st January 202 and to deferential between the two regions, we now have two separate nomination forms.
All of the categories will be the same. There will also be separate Awards Presentation ceremonies to celebrate the recognition and achievement of Winners in the two regions. More on this to follow, so keep posted.
Name changes
In addition, you've probably also noticed that the awards are now grouped into 'The Women's Awards'. This is a big and exciting step for us as we reach out to identify, recognise and celebrate even more women and their contribution to our economy, business, community and the many other sectors they work in.
Meet Ups
Throughout 2020 we will be holding monthly meetups, networking and information events. These will offer you the opportunity to hear from some of our EMWA Winners and Finalists. You'll get a chance to find out more about them, and about the Awards.
Last year we ran a few of these events and the feedback was been very encouraging. People, both men and women, have said that these events helped them to understand more about the Awards, the background to why they were started, how to submit a nomination and how to get involved as a business and an individual. It's a great place to ask those questions you've always wanted to ask. Keep an eye out for the dates and locations, which we'll be posting shortly.
Branding & Website Changes
The Awards have grown so much over the past 3 years. This year we saw a 73% increase on nominations and a 33% increase on attendees at the Awards.
We want to ensure that we're able to present and promote our Award Winners, Sponsors, and Parnters as well as the events and activities we run more effectively via the website. To do this we're working with one new sponsor of the Women's Awards who is creating a separate website. We still have some much more to do. We'll be sharing more on this in the coming weeks as well.
And finally, for now...
This year our chosen charity was ME & DEE and with your help, we've raised £430 to help with their 2020 Vision.
We will continue to do what we can to raise fund for this amazing charity. If you'd like to find out more click on the image to go to their website.
As you can see it's all very exciting with lots happening. It's hard to contain ourselves.
But we will keep you posted with more information as soon as we can.
In the meantime, have a wonderful Holiday Season. We wish you a Prosperous and exciting 2020.
