Women in the High Street (WITHS) in Market Towns was started as a pilot in the market town of Uppingham in 2014 through the collaboration of WIMUK and Uppingham First.
The idea behind this network is to promote the contribution of female business owner managers in Uppingham and give recognition to their contribution to the economic viability of the local economy. Whilst providing support, opportunities for empowering business and personal development, networking and the formation of strategy beneficial alliances.
Women in the High Street networking phenomenon has now grown across market towns in the East Midlands with groups forming and planned for Rutland, Cambridgeshire, Peterborough, Lincolnshire and Leicestershire.
Support for the network is also growing with partnerships with many local and regional businesses and Town Councils on board.
